The Accounting function is critical to our success and as we move our North American corporate headquarters to New Jersey we're building bench strength by hiring impact players for tomorrow: career minded professionals who can contribute beyond their job description and push us to the next level. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will not only bring solid expertise in GAAP and SOX 404 compliance to help us develop sound internal controls, but also call upon your interpersonal savvy to build relations with a geographically dispersed Accounting team in India, Michigan and Canada.

In addition to the qualifications listed above, you will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience, including month-end close, account analysis, and journal entry preparations.
- Solid exposure to inter-company financials; you will report consolidated results for VCNA to our headquarters in Sweden and also manage transactions between Ford and Volvo.
- Impeccable communication skills, both oral and written to distill complex financials into succinct reports and present to management.
- The ability to learn new things quickly with minimal direction and function effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel.
Preferred, but not required:
- CPA.
- Experience with SAP accounting systems.

More About Your Role
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will join a team of over 20 finance/accounting personnel at our New Jersey office.
This role will evolve over time, but at a high-level you'll spend about 60% of your time driving day-to-day accounting issues; and the remaining 40% with client support and process improvement activities. Your specific responsibilities will be to:
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly uploads and journal entries in conjunction with the monthly close.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including timely preparation and resolution of reconciling items.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of billings, accruals and analysis related to Variable Marketing Expense.
- Ensure accuracy of accounting and reporting for Rental Repurchase process, including reserve analysis related to deferred revenue, cost and variable marketing.
- Ensure accuracy of accounting and reporting for Vehicles in Company Service, including monthly metrics reported to Finance and Commercial Fleet Operations.
- Report financial results to Sweden on a monthly basis through Hyperion FM.
- Prepare the monthly VCNA Performance Report.
- Perform analysis of actual results compared to forecast/budget.
- Provide weekly wholesale volume reporting to VCC through Hyperion.
- Provide monthly trade reports to Census Bureau.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAO and GAAP for all assigned accounts and processes.
- Act as financial/accounting liaison to internal/external customers (3rd party vendors & dealers), forecasting department and operations.
- Complete special projects as assigned, including accounting changes and system implementations and testing.
- Comply with VCNA Operation Management System and VCNA Environmental System.
