What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/related discipline or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- 7-10 years of related experience; must have broad knowledge of Wholesale Sales, Distribution, Business Management and Marketing experience.
- The ability to engineer profits in a highly competitive market.
- Leadership savvy to marshal resources and rally the team; must have ability to lead an organization through incremental change.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to deliver polished presentations to executive level decision makers including owners of dealerships.

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, you will work from a home-based office within the Greater Chicago area and provide oversight to one Aftersales Market Manager. In a nutshell, you will spend about 75% of your time out in the field with "touch" related activities as you work one-on-one with the dealers executing and reviewing market plans and sales strategies; and the remaining 25% in your home office working on corporate issues, such as market plans for individual markets and vehicles, allocation of cars etc. Specifically, your responsibilities are to:
- Collaborate with regional management to establish market goals and direction for the Market team.
- Develop Retailer and market team strategy to achieve revenue targets.
- Work with and provide guidance to Retailer Principal to achieve Retailer objectives.
- Define network-planning requirements to meet capacity requirements.
- Manage and prioritize market activities to align wholesale, retail and aftersales objectives.
- Solicit Retailer input on various programs and business matters, and provide feedback to the Sales & Marketing Manager.
- Address and resolve cases of customer dissatisfaction, as appropriate.
- Ensure Retailer capacity is in-line with market potential.
- Work with Retailer sales departments to meet sales targets and grow market share.
- Manage market implementation of Volvo sales and marketing programs, activities, standards, support, tools and product training.
- Advise Retailer personnel of incentive programs and assist where required.
- Develop sales improvement plans and monitor execution to achieve results.
- Provide market input on National/Regional programs, Regional projects and processes.
- Review results and analyze market performance for New, Certified Pre-Owned and TDS vehicles, Aftersales, Parts, Accessories and Technical Support.
- Monitor Retailer performance against Annual Business Plan and objectives and take corrective action steps to improve performance, collaborating with the regional team.
- Review and assess Retailer's management team and recommend improvements.
- Monitor Retailer CSI performance and recommend improvement plans, utilizing best practices.
- Audit out of line conditions in warranty, sales, incentives and customer care; take necessary corrective actions.
- Identify new and existing market opportunities and assist in developing a marketing plan.
- Identify training and developmental needs of the market team; provide support for the resources needed.
- Define Retailer improvement programs based on Annual Business Plan and Mystery Shopper.
- Maintain Corporate Identity standards as required.
- Manage the Advertising Market Councils and Advertising Groups.
- Comply with Volvo Business Management, Standards of corporate conduct and Environmental Systems.
